Step 1: Register for the race! Click here
Step 2:
At the end of the registration process, set up your personal fundraising page as directed (if you miss the prompt, go here to set up your page https://www.crowdrise.com/drumstickdash2018)
Step 3: Raise a minimum of $250 to help the homeless that come to Wheeler Mission seeking shelter and care
Step 4: When you’ve raised the minimum, let us know by emailing drumstickdash@wheelermission.org with a link to your fundraising page
Step 5: All but a penny of your individual registration will be refunded! (one individual registration refunded per fundraising page)

All qualifying participants also receive:

  • Pre- and post-race lounge with private restrooms, heat, snacks, drinks, and free injury screenings at Team Rehabilitation’s Broad Ripple location (located in the Food Court Party Area)
  • Top 10 fundraisers achieve VIP status, gaining access for two to the VIP/Celebrity tent located near the Start Line
  • Top fundraiser receives the famous traveling turkey trophy to display for a year

Why Fundraise?

This Thanksgiving, more than 1,600 people in central Indiana will spend the day homeless. We believe that nobody in our community should be without food, shelter, and warmth, but especially during the holidays. Fundraising for the Drumstick Dash helps provide nutritious meals and care to the homeless men, women, and mothers with children right here in our community.

How to Fundraise

Visit our Drumstick Dash 2018 page on CrowdRise to create your own easy-to-use Fundraising team or you can join an existing team. Either way, you’ll be raising critical funds for our city’s most desperate people.

Once you start your Fundraising page, upload a fun picture and write a few words about why you’re raising money for the homeless this Thanksgiving, and then send your page out to your friends and family, inviting them to donate to Wheeler Mission. Every $2.25 raised provides a meal to someone in need.

All donations are tax-deductible. A donation receipt will be emailed to you from CrowdRise. Donors may make checks payable to “Drumstick Dash” and turn them in to the Wheeler Mission table at the Drumstick Dash Expo or at the event.

Prizes

Everyone who starts a fundraising page gets special access for two on Race Day to the new Team Rehab facility, located at 1081 Broad Ripple Ave in the heart of Drumstick Dash festivities! Benefits include: 

  • Stay warm and dry before and after the race
  • Free pre- and post-race Injury Screen and Stretching
  • Pre- and post-hydration and carb loading

FAQ

Q: Are donations tax-deductible?
A: Yes. A donation receipt will be emailed to each donor from CrowdRise.

Q: What do I do with cash or checks?
A: Checks can be made payable to “Drumstick Dash”

  • Enter all offline donations (checks or cash) in the “manage my team” tab. -> “toolkit” -> “manage offline donations”. This will keep your page up-to-date so your team will receive full credit for all of your fundraising.
    • You can mail checks to Wheeler Mission, 205 E New York St, Indianapolis, IN 46204
    • Or bring all checks and cash in an envelope, clearly marked with your team name and the total amount inside the envelope. Turn in these offline donations at the Wheeler Mission Table at the Expo or at the Wheeler Mission Tent, located in the food court, on race day.

Q: Where do I pick up my prize?
A: Prizes can be picked up at the Prize Table during the Expo and Packet Pick-up or at the KLOVE Prize Tent on race day.

Rules

  • Fundraising prize deadline is 9AM on Monday, November 19, 2018.
  • Individual prizes given to individual fundraisers only (if more than one person is using a single account, you may be ineligible for individual prizes).
  • No purchase necessary to win prizes. You do not have to participate in the Drumstick Dash in order to Fundraise.
