Why be in the Ambassador Club?
I love everything about the race and it’s purpose. It fits perfectly into the thanksgiving spirit.
Top 3 Dash Memories:
The first time I ran it, this past year, and the turkey every year that people chase.
Community Involvement:
I serve at church, and am active in the cross country and track teams and clubs at UIndy.
Ideal Race Ambassador Experience:
Seeing people that I recruited to run the drumstick dash on race day.

Why be in the Ambassador Club?
I love everything Wheeler Mission is about and the Drumstick Dash is one of my favorite ways to show that! It is one of my favorite races and the more people I can help get there the better!
Top 3 Dash Memories:
I love that I get to come together Thanksgiving morning with my Back on My Feet family to run, in 2014 I remember running as giant snowflakes fell and it was so beautiful, and I love seeing all of the families starting their Thanksgiving day together Community Involvement:
I volunteer with Back on My Feet, attend Traders Point Church, and work for a local Mental Health Center
Ideal Race Ambassador Experience:
Someone who already enjoys the Drumstick Dash and plans to participate regardless! Also someone who enjoys running and has an outgoing personality.

Why be in the Ambassador Club?
I love the Drumstick Dash! It’s a tradition and a favorite among my family and my running community. I’d love to support BOMF as well!
Top 3 Dash Memories:
The crazy sideways snow race several years ago! The Entire Star Wars group of runners! Hanging out after the race drinking Starbucks and cheering on finishers and friends!
Community Involvement:
I am a member of Indy Runners, Personal Best Training (PBT) and Team Shorts (A local women’s running group!)
Ideal Race Ambassador Experience:
I’d love to recruit and get runners to join! I’d love to represent one of my favorite hometown races! I’d love to give back and gain attention to the great organizations of Wheeler Missions BOMF!

Why be in the Ambassador Club?
Absolutely love this race, what it stands for and the opportunity to spend time with family. I would love to be a part of getting the word out to encourage more people to run!
Top 3 Dash Memories:
Running every year with my dad, adding additional family members throughout the years, annual post race donut party at my house!
Community Involvement:
I participate in multiple adult recreational sports leagues weekly including softball, soccer and workout classes. I volunteer at Dress For Success Indianapolis and serve on the Indiana State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.
Ideal Race Ambassador Experience:
My ideal race ambassador experience would include the opportunity to help spread the word about this awesome race through community interactions and sharing with friends and family. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to represent this cause.

Why be in the Ambassador Club?
In the last year I have lost thirty pounds from running. I am a law school student in Indianapolis who has developed a passion for running. I would love to help promote Drumstick Dash to the Indianapolis community.
Top 3 Dash Memories:
My top three Drumstick Dash memories are convincing my family to run the race with me last year, setting a 5k PR, and in 2011 the Drumstick Dash was my first 5k race ever.
Community Involvement:
I am a member of IndyRunner and have made many running friends in Indianapolis and Fountain Square.

My ideal race ambassador experience would be to encourage people to get involved in giving back to the community and wheeler mission through the Drumstick Dash.

Why be in the Ambassador Club?
This is such a great event that my family looks forward to every year. It would be such an honor to help spread the word and get people excited to be involved. Along with witnessing to others the amazing work the Wheeler Mission does in our community.
Top 3 Dash Memories:
The 2nd race with my daughter (when she really understood why we were doing what we were doing), the first race with my husband (it was his first ever fun run!), running in the snow a few years ago with my daughter bundled up and covered in snow.
Community Involvement:
I am an active member at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, I’m on the Faegre Baker Daniels Volunteer team and I am a SportCorp volunteer.
Ideal Race Ambassador Experience:
To make an impact by getting people involved and excited about this amazing opportunity to make a difference in our community as well as open doors for my own continued volunteering experiences and help the event behind the scenes.

Love this family friendly race that supports wellness. Enjoy getting people involved in giving back to the community.
Top 3 Dash Memories:
1. Last year the passing of the torch from Gerry Gobbler 2. Loved the Fun patrol – what a great customer service assistance for participants. 3. Enjoy every year the sea of people running down Broad ripple Ave – and the turn to Keystone. The crowd is impressive. Community Involvement: I am part of Indy Runners.
Ideal Race Ambassador Experience:
To invite and involve everyone. Runners/ walkers / strollers to join in the fun. Exercise is good for you – and it is good to hang out with like minded people that want to get up and move!

Seeing how many families walk together. Seeing how many city leaders value the Drumstick Dash. Watching the event grow, while most run / walks are declining attendance.

Why be in the Ambassador Club?
I love the whole experience and being in charge of the Largest Team the past 2 years has allowed me to involve so many people in this race. It is so great to be able to get out and run/walk with friends/family on Thanksgiving for such a great cause.
Top 3 Dash Memories:
My first DD in 2010 as this was only me second race ever after taking up running earlier in that year. Winning the Largest Team with my running club and then defending our title in 2016
Community Involvement:
I work at Staples in Glendale Mall, I attend Christ the King Church and my children go to Christ the King School. I am the Head Cross Country Coach at CTK school for 2nd through 8th grade. Co-Founder of Tiger Running Club and member or PBT Run Club.
Ideal Race Ambassador Experience:
To be able to speak with people in the community and inform them of the many reasons to run/walk with us this year at DD including raising money for Wheeler Mission, sharing time with friends and family while meeting new people who are doing the same.

Why be in the Ambassador Club?
I love to be a part of the running community, from the group runs, to the races, to all things running in Indy. The Drumstick Dash is a big part of the Indy running community for all types of runners.
Top 3 Dash Memories:
1. I used my first Drumstick Dash as my first cold weather race to force myself into cold running. I’ve been running in frigid temps ever since. 2. Running the entire thing with my husband. 3. Running/walking the entire thing with my friend Jaimee.
Community Involvement:
I admin 2 local women’s running groups, Moms Runs This Town and Ladies Running Indy. I participate in other local running groups. I frequently run the numerous races as well in the Indy area.
Ideal Race Ambassador Experience:
I would use my social media & DDash literature to share the D-Dash opportunity via gyms, running stores, etc. I would communicate my past positive experience as a DD runner in all avenues to encourage registration. Fun!

As former Black Girls Run! ambassador, I’ve always wanted to encourage others to have a healthy lifestyle.

1) Ran one of my coldest races, but I still did it 2) My son running with me 3) It’s always the best race

Wheeler mission volunteer, skirt sports ambassador, former BGR! ambassador, uber/lyft driver, form.

Why be in the Ambassador Club?
I believe in the mission and programs of the Wheeler Mission and participating in the Drumstick Dash is a way that even more people are able to contribute. I was part of the DD focus group and was excited to hear about the proposed changes/additions.
Top 3 Dash Memories:
Participating with my adult son for the past 3 years. My grandchildren attending the DD expo. The first year that I participated (2013) as a new “racer”.
Community Involvement:
Speedway Running Club (advisory team) GirlTrek;Hello Haughville (team leader}; Speedway Kidsfit Running Club (coach), ReadUP tutor (IPS), Hosts reading mentor (Wayne Twp), volunteer at grandchildren’s schools (Pike & Washington Twp), avid walker.
Ideal Race Ambassador Experience:
The opportunity to speak with people about the DD and how their participation benefits people in our community. Also helping people to realize that the DD isn’t only for runners, that walking is a great way to be active and healthy.
